intelligent, very energetic, fearless, hardy, healthy and love

people. They are about 12 inches tall and about 10 to 15 pounds.

Their coat, which can be smooth or rough, is easy to groom. Most

jack russels have a mostly white coat with tan or black

markings on the head or body.

My male, Barney, is a smooth coat black and tan dog. He looks very

much like a Parson's Russel and is smaller than the females. The two

females have rough or broken coats and are white with tan face

markings. All three are lively and extremely affectionate.

Because the jack russel is a high energy dog, he needs a lot of

exercise. He does like to dig and climb so a fenced area is a good

idea.
