This web site is a work in progress. The picture is my 92 year old mother with a lap full
of chihuahuas.
I will begin by explaining a little bit about myself and why I am raising dogs. After my
husband passed away I felt more than a little lost without a real direction in my life. A
friend suggested that because I loved dogs perhaps I should consider raising them. She
said it would be a great hobby to keep my mind and body busy and maybe give me some extra
income. That was a `light bulb` moment for me.
I spent a year doing research and decided it was something I could do on the farm without
asking for help like I have to do with the horses and cows. I had the knowledge
and the facilities that were required to keep me and the dogs healthy and
content. So began my new venture and my canine companions and I are having a great time.
{They enjoy life and I do the work}
Since I couldn`t decide on one specific breed, I decided to try some different breeds
and in the process find out which breeds would appeal to me most. In this coming year I
will assess and keep only the breeds that work into my life style the best. This also
assists me in helping others select a breed that fits their life style. My feelings are, if
you don`t actually live with a dog for a time you will never know what characteristics he
has--good or bad. As I am of retirement age, I felt this was a way to keep me feeling
young. The dogs have a way to fill a big spot in your heart and keep you from becoming a
lazy `couch potatoe` which is a very easy rut to fall into.
Have you ever experienced the joy on a person`s face when he/she picks up their special
puppy? That spectacular moment, a snap-shot in time, is what makes the hours spent looking
after my canine friends very worthwhile. And it does take a lot of time, energy and
organization.
My dogs are socialized and get lots of exercise and fresh air in their inside and outside
pens. I have fenced in my two acre yard for one of my exercise areas, and also built
individual pens inside and outside. I purchased purebred dogs but not all of them have
registration papers as I plan on selling only unregistered animals as pets. My breeding
stock had to have correct conformation and, extrememly important, good-natured
temperments. Puppies are purebred but NO REGISTRATION papers will be issued as I am selling
them as `true to type` for that particular breed. All dogs will have their first
vaccination and will be wormed. You, as the new owner, will have two working days to get
the puppy vet checked at your own expense, if you so wish. If for some reason the puppy is
not healthy after the vet check you will get a full refund when I receive a signed vet
cerficate stating the medical problem the puppy exhibits. I am selling healthy pups but I
feel an injury after he leaves my home is the responsibility of the new owner.
Every breed of dog has its` own distinctive physical appearance, special entertaining
personality and unique qualities that make him a canine delight of your family. I am
raising a variety of breeds which include chihuahuas, jack russels, papillons, pomeranians,
pugs, and miniature schnauzers. Choose a breed that reflects your lifesyle and family
circumstances so puppy and human can be as compatible as possible. I would like to give
you, the purchaser, that distinctive puppy that best fits your need for a companion.
